Information Collection
Pack Heap is the sole owner of the information collected https://www.packheap.com/
Pack Heap collects information from our users at various points in our Web site.
Registration
Users are required to fill out the registration form to be able to use Pack Heap. When a user registers, he/she must provide a name and an email address. We use this information to inform the user of our services even if the user hasn’t placed an order.
Order
We request information from the user on our order form. A user needs to enter details related to the contact (name, email, shipping address) and financial (credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for credit card authorization and to fill customers’ orders. In case of trouble with processing an order, the information is used to call the user.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of information that is placed on the user’s computer that is associated with specific information about the user. Persistent cookies are used by us. A persistent cookie is a small text file that is stored on the user’s hard drive for a long time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions.
My Pack Heap and the Pack Heap order section employ cookies in order to identify the user, link the user to the order and to enable the shopping basket. Turning your cookies off will make the use of our site impossible.
Log Files
We, much like the typical web server, use log files. These include internet protocol (IP) address, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referrer/exit page, platform type, date/time stamp and a number of clicks to enable analysis of trends, administer the site, track the movement of users in the aggregate and collect broad aggregate demographic data for aggregate use. This data is not associated with specific individuals.
Communications from the Site
Special offers and updates.
Members who have been members for a while will sometimes be provided with information about products, services, special deals and a newsletter. For privacy reasons, we want to offer you the choice of not receiving these types of communications. If you do not want to receive any more communication from us please email us at sales@packheap.com.
Newsletter
Customers are automatically subscribed to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address. Out of respect for our user’s privacy, we provide a way to opt-out of these communications. To stop receiving future newsletters, please e-mail sales@packheap.com
Customer Service
We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services. Our production and customer service use both email and phone information to communicate with customers in regards to issues relating to in-process orders.
Legal Disclaimer
We do our best to maintain the privacy of our users but we may have to pass on personal data if we have a good faith belief that release of this information is required to comply with a current judicial proceeding or a court order or legal process that is served on our Web site.
Third-Party Intermediaries
We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for other secondary purposes.
Business Transitions
In most cases, if Pack Heap undertakes a business transition like a merger, acquisition by another company or sale of a portion of its assets, the users’ personal information will be part of the assets transferred. If, because of the business transition, the users’ Personally Identifiable Information will be used in a way that differs from how it’s described when it was collected, the users will be provided with a choice as we explained in our notification of changes section.
Choice/Opt-out
Users are asked at the point of collecting data what they wish to do with their data and are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their data used for purposes not directly connected with our site. For instance, our ordering process for all our products offers an ‘opt-out’ feature, allowing people who purchase something from us but do not wish to have their email addresses added to our lists, to keep them out of our lists.
If a user ever does not wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications he/she may please unsubscribe from our e-mails and communications by simply replying to unsubscribe in the subject line of the e-mail or email us at sales@packheap.com

We may have links on our sites to other sites. Note that we cannot guarantee the privacy of such sites. We ask our users to be mindful when leaving our site and to read the privacy policies of every site that has a privacy policy that gathers personally-identifiable information. This privacy statement only covers information gathered in this Web site.
Security
Our Web sites take every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line.
When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number) that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry—SSL. When users are ‘surfing’ the lock icon at the bottom of Web browsers like Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer is un locked, or open; but when on a secure Web page, like our order form, the lock icon is locked, or closed.
We use SSL encryption for sensitive information online but we do our utmost to protect the information of our users offline. Not only the sensitive information, but all of our users’ information is limited in our offices. Personally identifying information is only available to employees who must have access to it in order to properly do their jobs (our billing clerk for example, or a customer service representative). Employees have to provide a password to get access to the information of users. Lastly, the servers in which PII is stored are in a high-security environment within our co-location facility.
Supplementation of Information
Notification of Changes
We will update this statement of privacy and link to it from our homepage and other appropriate locations if we make any changes to the way we collect, use or disclose your information. Information will be used in line with the information’s privacy statement of collection.
If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.
If the customers have refused to receive any communication from the site, or have deleted/deactivated the account. Then they will not be contacted, nor will their private information be utilized in this new way. Also, if we change our privacy practices in ways that do not impact the information of users already in our database, we will inform you of such changes. A prominent notice will be posted on our Web site that advises users of the change.
